The Colorful Explosion of Is

Once or twice a month I feel specifically like this.

Like the world truly is big and vast and full of possibility.

Like everything I could ever do and learn and see and experience is right here at my fingertips.

Like there is simply too much for me to find, but rather than being discouraged or overwhelmed, I find it thrilling, empowering, an absolute blessing.

Because how lucky am I to be here, on this earth, full of possibility?

How lucky am I to learn what my body can do, what people can do, what different sides of the world look like, what different languages sound like, how to play an instrument, or a new sport, how to cook or dance or write poetry?

How lucky am I to feel new feelings, or find new ways to express old ones, to discover a new hobby, a new passion, to see the depths of human kindness, the widths of human joy, the endlessness of human determination?

How lucky am I to have the opportunity to start over and start over and start over?

I love days like this.

I love that they find me unexpectedly and unpredictably.

I love this feeling, this colorful explosion of is—of all there is and can be.

I do my best to breathe it in deep.
