Two years ago, I booked a flight to Nashville to join a writing team.
99 other people, from 38 states and six countries, did the same thing.
We were all answering the call to an Instagram ad, a proposal to do something no one had ever done before, the chance to be a part of history.
The goal: write a collaborative movie script, one page at a time, one writer at a time.
Gathered in a small theater in downtown Franklin, we watched in anticipation as the producers spun a bingo ball machine, pulling out numbers 1-100 that assigned each writer their page.
10 days later, page one was written.
And the four months that followed were chaotic, exciting, and more than anything FUN.
Each day I logged on to see a new page of the script delivered to my inbox, and I watched as the story slowly began to take shape. A story built on a single page, weaved together by 100 different minds.
100 different friends.
100 different members of a new family.
In the year and half since the script was finished, we’ve continued to meet on Zoom regularly, polishing and perfecting the story, strategizing how to get it out into the world, and staying caught up in one another’s lives, rooting for each other, praying for each other, and leaning on each other when the world doesn’t seem to make sense.
So really, two stories have been written.
One in script format, and one in friendship.
And now, we’re hoping you can help us tell both.
We’ve launched an IndieGoGo campaign, where you can find all the fun perks of donating, including the chance to be IN the movie.
You can also follow the movie on social media (Tik Tok, Instagram) where you can not only learn more about the writers, but even get clues about the script.
We would love for you to take this ride with us and see what we’ve made.
We would love to invite you to Boot Lake.
