Last September, I saw people making fall bucket lists meant to help them fully embrace the season. They were lists of activities that are either only available in the fall or perhaps just the most fun in the fall. Things like drink hot apple cider, go apple/pumpkin picking, or do a Turkey Trot.
My sister and I actually made fall bucket lists but then, well, got busy and kind of failed them.
OR—she says in a stab at a bright side—we just made our 2024 fall bucket lists *one year in advance*.
We’ll see.
Either way, it was the practice of making the list that was the most fun. So a few weeks ago, we decided to make summer bucket lists!
And in honor of the official start of summer last week, I thought I’d share mine with you.
Maybe you’re looking to make your own, maybe (like me) you’re just nosey and want to see what I’d include on my list.
Either way, here is my summer bucket list. I’m happy to report, I’m already making progress!
—
1) Go to the beach (duh)
2) Spend a day at the lake (I often prefer the lake to the beach, and I *love* an afternoon lake float)
3) Try a new flavor of ice cream (fine, if I have to)
4) Go to a summer Dodger game (warm night game + beer + hot dogs—HI)
5) Watch a pretty sunset (don’t mind if I do)
6) Eat acai bowls (it will take more self-control not to do this every day)
7) Go to the farmer’s market at least once a month (the summer berries, though)
8) Have a screen free day once a month (let’s stay off our phones)
9) Drink a milkshake (don’t have to tell me twice)
10) Try a new hiking trail (I feel so lucky I have so many options!)
11) Have a backyard BBQ (already checked this off, but plan to add about 14 more checks)
12) Do at least 3 Impromptu cards (this will pair well with my goals for 2024)
13) Collaborate on a new summer playlist (always looking for suggestions!)
14) Get a dipped cone (oh, the joyful panic of eating a dipped cone.)
15) Make morning smoothies (especially when the mornings start at 80 degrees)
16) Try to self tan (pray for me)
17) Do a monthly Trader Joe’s haul (sorry if this dominates my upcoming favorites posts)
18) Read in the park (brb bagging up the yummy snacks I found at TJ’s to bring to the park)
19) Lounge by the pool (a book + a popsicle + a pool to occasionally jump in, okay!)
20) Buy fresh flowers monthly (yay!)
21) Bake something new (I blame my Instagram Explore page)
22) Go to a new museum (also on my list of goals for this year)
23) Plan a new trip (love getting something new in the works!)

Happy official summer to you! I hope it is everything and more!
