200 day time capsule blog

200 Time Time Capsule Blog #9

Has it really been 200 days already!?

In one sense, I feel like YES, January was 45 years ago, so much has happened since then, omg.

But in another sense I’m like, WOAH, it feels like yesterday.

Either way, we are back for another time capsule.

I always love getting these ~letters from the past~.

At the beginning of this one, I wrote, “Wishing you well on these next 200 days. Do your best and give yourself grace.”

That’s so nice, past me. I think I’ve done that, but there’s always room to do better. In these next 200 days, may we all strive for better.

.

1) What day is it?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): January 5th, 2022

.

2) Describe yourself today

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): I feel calm. Which is kind of funny because looking at my crazy schedule for the next 6 months, there is NO reason to be calm. But I have been really prioritizing doing things that make me feel good (going on walks, doing yoga, cooking dinner, reading my Bible, working on my counted cross stitch, calling friends on the phone, going to bed early, etc.) and it has made me feel really good. It makes me excited for the year to come because I feel like I can always come back to this place if I get stressed. Aside from that, I’m in jeans and a sweater, in full New Year mode, wanting to learn and achieve everything all at once and practically bursting at the seams from the anticipation of what might come next. And yet, calm.

The funny thing about this is that around this same time, I was talking to my friend Nicole on the phone and I said, “I feel like everything is about to change. I don’t know in what way but I just feel like a lot of change is coming.” A few weeks later, our apartment flooded, and then over the next couple months we moved out, my sister got engaged and then married, and now I’m living with my parents while I look for a place of my own. So while I can’t say I’m still completely holding on to that “calm” I am optimistic about what’s coming next.

.

3) What did you do today?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): I feel like I always start these with “I worked.” She is so brave and hardworking, folks. But alas, I did work today, and I have plans of going for a run in this strangely wonderful 70 degree weather, then I’m going to do some writing, have some leftover roasted cauliflower tacos (yum!) and hangout (from afar) with my sister, who currently has COVID and is locked in her room, so we text and play iPhone games throughout the day. I might encourage us to get ice cream too since that is an *obvious* COVID cure.

Cannot confirm whether or not I went for that run, but a week later, once my sister was COVID free, we went out for ice cream. Two days later, I tested positive and was down for a week. I lost all of my running stamina and haven’t found the motivation to get it back. 🤷

.

4) What’s your favorite song right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): Oooh. This is usually an easy one for me, because I’m almost always in the process of overplaying a song, but I don’t have a particular favorite right now. Maybe “Oh My God” by Adele, or one of Leon’s new songs like “Soaked” or “Fade into a Dream.”

.

5) What’s the most recent movie you’ve seen?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): I just watched Red Notice on Netflix last night, which was pretty good. I’m excited about so many movies coming out this year!! This month alone I’m hoping to see West Side StoryLicorice Pizza, Redeeming Love and Belfast in theaters.

I saw all but Belfast in theaters (and have yet to see it now that I think about it!) and have been so excited to see a bunch more movies in theaters since. I missed the movies so much during lockdown and I’m trying my best to get there as often as possible.

.

6) Who did you last text and what did you say?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): I texted my sister “Omg SO close to a bullseye” because we’re playing darts on iPhone games. Haha!

These proved to be a lifesaver, both when she had COVID and when I did. I think we tried every game there was, and we weren’t all that good at them lol.

.

7) What is your biggest goal right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): Hmm, I don’t know if there is one that stands out above the others. I have my usual list of 17, and then I’ve created a small list of side goals for myself that are just self-care items that I’ve wanted to make habits of for a while, but nothing stands out as “THE ONE.” So maybe I’d just say that my biggest goal is to continue pursuing my best self. My most honest, genuine, and happy self.

I think I’ve done pretty well at continuing to pursue this. And I think part of living a good life is always pursuing this, as our “best” self will look and feel different as we grow and change. My best self now is probably already different than my best self then.

.

8) What are you most excited about?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): There is a TON to be excited about this year. Some friends are getting married, some trips and concerts are on the calendar. But I think the thing I’m MOST excited about would probably be our trip to Nashville coming up in March!

Spoiler alert: Nashville was incredible!

.

9) What are you most worried about?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): That we’ll find ourselves in the same place come this next time capsule (or even next January). I am just so tired of seeing the same arguments, the same news headlines, the same negative, fear based announcements that send the public into a constant tailspin. I really want to have hope that we are headed towards something better and brighter, but a part of me is afraid we won’t make any progress any time soon.

I’m keeping this worry in my prayers. I like to believe we’re always making progress somewhere, but in some cases I think it’s a one step forward, two steps back type of deal. Nonetheless, I do believe there always room for progress, and there are always people working to make it happen.

.

10) What’s the best thing you’ve eaten in the last 200 days?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/5/22): My mom’s Thanksgiving stuffing and/or the 5000 Christmas desserts that I ate for the entire month of December (and most of January).

The summer months in Southern California have not packed their usual grueling, boiling, sweaty punch this year, but I’m already craving those cool(ish) fall months that lead into the holiday season and the DESSERTS. Or maybe I’m just craving a cookie. I can’t be sure.

Sending you well wishes. Do your best and give yourself grace ❤️

200 Day Time Capsule Blog #8

Hello and Happy New Year!

I know there is a lot of negativity circulating about the new year, as people are both bitter about the happenings of 2021, and nervous we will get more of the same in 2022.

I get it. And I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel about it.

But I personally am still trying to go in with an optimistic outlook, and I pray that we find some goodness in these next 365 days.

That being said, I can’t help but poke fun at my June 2021 self, who wrote this in the introduction to my last time capsule blog post:

“Tomorrow, June 15th, is the day when things are making a big push towards “normal.” Baseball stadiums are opening to full capacity, mask mandates are disappearing, people are OPENLY HUGGING.

It’s emotional, y’all.

I’m curious what “the new normal” will look like 200 days from this fateful one.

I guess we’ll find out.”

I hate to break it to you babe, but find out we have and…it’s not what you (or anyone) hoped.

We are still out here shoving q-tips up our noses, cancelling events and wondering if a scratchy throat means we have to quarantine for a week or if maybe we just had the heater up too high last night.

Things are not back to normal and never really will be, but I do believe we are moving towards a brighter future. Towards days that don’t revolve around COVID tests and vaccination arguments. Towards days when we can travel and spend time together without restriction or panic.

So I hope that we can all find a little more hope this year. That we can write down predictions for where we’ll be in the next 200 days and find ourselves somewhere better than we were before.

Until then, let’s see where I was in June 2021:

1) What day is it?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): June 14, 2021

One day before my cousin’s first birthday! Happy (almost seven months later) birthday Easton!

2) Describe yourself today.

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): I am a combination of things. It’s one of those days where there are a lot of emotions competing beneath the surface and I’m not sure which one is the most true to how I’m feeling, or perhaps which one is winning. So I’m writing a lot today, trying to figure it out. I’m also wearing my favorite t-shirt, some comfy jeans, and a hairdo that is brought to you exclusively by dry shampoo.

Confused, emotional, uninterested in washing my hair, and yet still honest, vulnerable and dressed comfortably. We love a conundrum.

3) What did you do today?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): So far I have come to work and posted a blog. Later on I’m going to see my best friend and watch In the Heights (for the second time). Lin Manual Miranda, you talented, talented man. How dare you.

Can confirm I watched this a second time and it made me openly cry for the second (or, okay, fourth, fifth and sixth time).

4) What’s your favorite song right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): “Headspace” by Riley Clemmons. I’m really loving her whole album, Godsend, I think it showed up just in time for me!

I still believe that! Especially since my Spotify Wrapped showed Riley Clemmons as one of my top artists of the year, and “Headspace” as one of my top five songs.

5) What’s the most recent movie you’ve seen?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): Funny you should ask because that answer would be: In the Heights. Please refer to question three to hear my thoughts on Lin Manuel Miranda.

It is true that I watched In the Heights, then immediately made plans with my best friends to watch it again. Sorry not sorry.

6) Who did you last text and what did you say?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): Would you believe I wasn’t sponsored by HBO Max if I told you it was a text to my best friend asking, “have you seen In the Heights?” Because 1) I’m not sponsored, and 2) I feel like this is getting out of control.

If my hairdo was brought to you exclusively by dry shampoo, the rest of this post really does seem to be brought to you by Lin Manual Miranda’s In the Heights. Though it is slightly hilarious to mention that I haven’t seen or talked about it since June.

7) What is your biggest goal right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): To finish a writing project I’ve nicknamed the PWP. It is something completely out of my comfort zone and that I have been nervous to sit down and actually start, but all of the research leading up to it is finished and now there is nothing to do but write.

And finish it you did, girl! There are still edits to be made and technicalities to be figured out, but take pride in knowing that you did sit down (over and over and over) and write that damn thing. And it was hard and incredible and hard.

8) What are you most excited about?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): I am excited for my sister and the big moves she’s making. Both in her personal and professional life. I’m also excited for some upcoming trips I’ve put on the calendar. Not to mention, another baby cousin on the way!! See you in September, little one.

Always excited for my sister, to be honest, but I love that I immortalized that here. Also, the little one did in fact arrive (and we even have ANOTHER one on the way now!!) and she is as precious as can be! We also went on that trip—the Epic October Trip to be exact—and it was pretty much the best trip ever.

9) What are you most worried about?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): Being stuck. In my journal recently, I’ve caught myself returning to this phrase: “please unstick me from this stuck.” I feel like I’ve been in the same cycle for a long time, and I have long been ready to make some changes, but it has taken work to figure out: 1) what exactly I want those changes to be, and 2) how I want to make them happen. At the same time, change is scary, and often when I sense it is close, I get scared and scurry back into my routines. And so I think I’ve been writing down this phrase as a prayer to be, more or less, thrown into something else, because I’m worried I’ll never have the courage to completely pursue that on my own, and that I’ll be stuck forever.

It’s so tempting to make a deflective joke here, but honestly I’m proud of myself for writing out exactly what I was feeling. It’s not something I have always been good at. But I am improving at both writing down my honest feelings, and sharing them with friends and family so that they don’t get cooped up in my head. Also, I’m very happy to say that over the last six months, I went through a lot of positive change. And while I still have the occasional smoggy day, I feel really good right now!

10) What is the best thing you’ve eaten in the last 200 days?

My answer from the last time capsule (6/14/21): Probably a Dodger dog at Dodger Stadium for the first time in 18 months. It was magical.

In the spirit of full transparency, while the Dodger dog was delicious, it wasn’t as delicious as it could have been because it wasn’t a Farmer John hot dog. So Farmer, if you’re reading this, please come back. Consider this my Say Anything boombox moment. Dodger Stadium isn’t the same without you.

Sending you well wishes and a Happy New Year!

200 Day Time Capsule Blog #7

I will admit, I held on to this one for a little longer than usual.

But I couldn’t help it. I wanted to wait until today because tomorrow, June 15th, is the day when things are making a big push towards “normal.” Baseball stadiums are opening to full capacity, mask mandates are disappearing, people are OPENLY HUGGING. (At least in California. I know this happened sooner in some places and will happen later in others, but our day is tomorrow!)

It’s emotional, y’all. And I wanted my time capsule blog to commemorate that.

I’m curious what “the new normal” will look like 200 days from this fateful one.

I guess we’ll find out.

1) What day is it?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): November 17, 2020

Ahhh, isn’t it nice not to say “2020” anymore.

2) What’s the weather like outside?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): It’s going to be about 80 degrees today. We had a little spurt of cold weather but now we’re back to the (mild) heat. The mornings are nice and cool though, and I’ve even gotten to sleep in sweatshirts a couple of times. I’m ready to get cozy!

There’s a very good chance I’ll change this question. The weather is pretty consistent with, you know, seasons. So I feel like it’s just a constant cycle of “hey it’s cold” and then “wouldn’t you know it, it’s hot!!” Not exactly riveting material. New question TBD.

3) What did you do today?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): Today is just a work day, but yesterday was a real highlight, as Nicole and I played pickleball for the first time and it was so fun! We were in search of a new hobby to try out and I think this one is going to be great. Plus, we already have plans to join the senior pickleball league and dominate well into our 70’s.

This is still the plan. Look for us in 40 years or so, we’ll be the ones in matching t-shirts, giggling.

4) What’s your favorite song right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): Natalee and I have been really jamming out to Bitter by FLETCHER, but I’ve also had Cam’s new album The Otherside and Léon’s album Apart on repeat for the last couple weeks.

Spoiler alert: you over-played most of these, girl. But I love this selection, they pretty much cover every emotion, and there were a lot of emotions to feel.

5) What’s the most recent movie you’ve seen?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): I just watched Jojo Rabbit the other night and it was so great. I’m mad it took me so long to watch it! I’m hoping that this year I’ll see all of the movies nominated for an Oscar and, even better, correctly predict which one will win!

Another spoiler alert: You did not watch all of the nominees (yet) and you did not correctly predict what would win. You did see the winning movie though. So there’s that.

6) Who did you last text and what did you say?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): I texted Nicole to set up our next day for pickleball, which we have taken to calling “pickle it up”, “get our pickle on”, etc.

Things have escalated and we’ve learned real pickleball lingo now, though I can only assume we are using it (at least kind of ) incorrectly. We also gave each other “pickleball alter egos” because that is how you dive headfirst into a new hobby.

7) What is your biggest goal right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): I am about halfway through my first ever writing class at UCLA Extension and it is the first unit of a Creative Writing Certificate. So my current goal is to work through those classes, get that certificate and see where writing can take me. Also, you know, just survive the rest of 2020.

#1: You not only finished that writing class but two more after! You are now halfway through the writing certificate and you’ve written about 15 essays that you didn’t know you had in you! Keep it up!

#2: You did make it through 2020, and while 2021 hasn’t necessarily been *the best* it’s got potential. So hang in there. Believe in the slow magic.

8) What are you most excited about?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): Seeing my family at Thanksgiving, watching all of my friend’s babies grow up, the possibility of falling in love and having babies of my own. I’m feeling positive today and I’m just excited about the good things ahead, because I know they’re coming.

I am honestly very surprised by this burst of positivity. Not sure what brought it on, but go off, past me. Thanksgiving ended up being wonderful and hilarious and a true celebration of everything we’d been through survived in 2020 up to that point. It should also be noted that my friends & family’s babies are adorable and growing up at the speed of light, and that one day my own babies will come for their crowns. I do believe that good things are ahead, though I can’t say I’ve got the momentum I had behind me in November. Past me sounded like she was sure they were right around the corner, while present me is anticipating them to be way up ahead somewhere and thus, I will continue to impatiently trudge forward. But hey, progress is progress.

9) What are you most worried about?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): COVID numbers peaking, overall unrest, change, all the things I can’t really control. You know, casual stuff.

There is a vaccine my sweet past self! June 15th, my darling, June 15th!!!

I can’t say we’re entirely less worried about most of the other things, but one of out four ain’t bad.

10) What’s the best thing you’ve eaten in the last 200 days?

My answer from the last time capsule (11/17/20): Easily, the granola crunch Belgian waffle I had not once but twice for breakfast while my family was in Solvang for the weekend celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday.

Oh my gosh, that waffle. I still dream of you.

200 Day Time Capsule Blog #6

It should come as a surprise to no one that this time capsule is a little grim, mostly because it’s been 200 days and things are not exactly radically better than they were for our last letter.

I started the letter with, “I can only hope things are good, because they are a little rough right now.”

Oh, past Kim. You poor, naive thing. You just had no idea, did you?

.

1) What day is it?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Tuesday April 28th, 2020

2) What’s the weather like outside?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): At this very moment it is 73 degrees, but it is expected to get up to 91 today. So apparently we are diving headfirst into the heat. RIP to the reasonable DWP bills.

RIP indeed. Don’t worry though, you’re having a super fun Southern California November, where it’s 43 degrees in the morning and 85 degrees by noon. You are handling it great and have only worried a few people by continually asking for “rainy, cold weather I can be sad to.”

3) What did you do today?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Well, it’s only 10:00 a.m. so I haven’t done much, and to be honest, with quarantine still going strong I probably won’t do a ton later. But I have been trying my best to keep busy with creative projects. Right now I’m working on a rally towel blanket and a cross stitch for [my cousins] Spenser, Ashlynn and (upcoming) baby Easton. I can’t believe that when I get this letter back he will be here, in the world! Can’t wait to meet you, little guy.

Baby Easton is indeed here and is one of the best and cutest things to have arrived in 2020. You should also know, past Kim, that you haven’t made any more progress on that blanket but you did make a robot out of soup cans, so that’s something.

4) What’s your favorite song right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Holding Out for the One by Tennille Townes and Hard to Forget by Sam Hunt, but I’ve also been listening to a lot of Lilla Vargen & Lady A.

I suppose another good thing about 2020 is we’ve had a lot of time to find a lot of new music. As you were writing this letter you were about to hit the jackpot on some good music finds.

5) What’s the most recent movie you’ve seen?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): My family and I watched Knives Out about a week ago and it was SO GOOD, and then Natalee and I have been on a Disney kick. I think the most recent one we watched was The Princess & the Frog which I’d never seen but thought it was so cute! Also, how dare Disney make me get so attached to a bug.

We’ve never fully recovered from Disney making us get attached to a bug.

6) Who did you last text and what did you say?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): I texted my brother about a German movie on Netflix called “Isi & Ossi” that he should watch, especially because he just recommended the show “Dark” to me, which is also in German and, according to him, will “BLOW MY MIND.” I am currently 15 minutes in to Season 1, Episode 1, and am already invested, so we’ll see how well I’m able to control my binge instincts.

It’s safe to say you threw all binge control out the window and went into Dark very HARD. Seriously, you wouldn’t stop talking about it for weeks. It was fantastic.

7) What is your biggest goal right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Hmm. That’s a little difficult because the world is kind of on hold right now. But I suppose I’m just trying to keep busy, stay motivated, and write.

We love an attainable goal unaffected by COVID restrictions! We are still doing just that. 🙌

8) What are you most excited about?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Meeting baby Easton. ❤

Still true. And soon this will finally happen!!

9) What are you most worried about?

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Oh boy, there is a lot of worry on my plate right now. Most of which I don’t like talking about because I don’t want to make it anymore real than it already is. To be honest I’m very scared of what lies ahead, but I’m trying to stay positive and pray in the hopes that there is good.

I recently came across this article that I bookmarked a while back and there is a quote in there that a girl shared from her therapist that says, “you don’t have to feel hopeful about the future, it’s enough just to be curious about what is coming.” I think this year has made a lot of us lose hope and expect the worst, but I’m trying to think of this quote in the context that while there still might be some bad up ahead, I’m curious to see what good comes alongside it.

10) Tell yourself a really bad joke.

My answer from the last time capsule (4/28/20): Read the room, girl.

I’d like to officially change this question since I sincerely hate it every time it comes up. I’m thinking, “what is the best thing you’ve eaten in the last 200 days?” Because who doesn’t like reliving something delicious?

200 Day Time Capsule Blog #5

I am usually prone to forgetting about the arrival of this letter arriving in my inbox, but about a week ago I remembered that it was getting close and I laughed out loud. While my last time capsule post was in October, I didn’t actually write my next letter until Januaryroughly two months before all hell broke loose. So it’s safe to say my answers and predictions are going to be slightly, if not horrifically, off.

But they should be interesting nonetheless.

To start things off, it’s clear that I was feeling a little feisty in January, because I start the letter with, “It’s a new decade bitch, make it shine.”

Okay, girl.

How about we relax?

Let’s see what else past me had to say.

.

1) What day is it?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): January 14th, 2020 (YIKES, I’m so behind.)

.

2) What’s the weather like outside?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): It’s sunny, but a little on the chilly side (for Southern Californians at least). I’ve been living in my sweaters for the last month and it has been bliss.

Ding dong, the heat’s back. Your jackets have now been put away—save for the couple you still wear in the office at work because the air conditioning has started cranking full blast and turning you into a popsicle.

.

3) What did you do today?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): Today all I have done is work so far. But in a few hours I am headed to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth out. Bleh. I’m excited to receive this in the future when it’s all over and done with.

You survived, girl! It was a rough couple days of recovery, but overall not that bad. That is…except for the ongoing mystery of who the hell put your sweatshirt back on.

.

4) What’s your favorite song right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): Pretty much anything by Maggie Rogers.

Still true. Maggie is a queen and her music is a lifeline I often turn to when I’m in need of a pick me up. Some of my favorites are “Burning”, “Love You for a Long Time”, and “Fallingwater.”

.

5) What’s the most recent movie you’ve seen?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): I saw Little Women on New Years Eve and it instantly became one of my favorite movies ever. Loved it.

This was such a good day! My best friend and I went to breakfast at one our favorite neighborhood restaurants, and then hit the movies for a $9 morning showing because we have reached a point in our lives when saving $10 feels like winning the lottery.

Also, after the movie ended and the lights went up we slumped down in our seats and sat, with still damp tears on our face, unable to come up with coherent sentences to express how much we loved it. So needless to say, I recommend it.

.

6) Who did you text last and what did you say?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): I texted my sister “I’ve gotten three emails from that gym I noticed while we were driving yesterday,” to let her know that technology is officially taking over.

Later that day I got home and said, out loud, in the earshot of my phone and my Alexa that I was “NOT INTERESTED IN THAT GYM” and then the emails stopped. Maybe it was a coincidence. Maybe it was 100%, definitely the robots listening. You decide.

.

7) What is your biggest goal right now?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): To finish writing a book.

.

8) What are you most excited about?

I kept in my answer from last time just because I thought it was necessary to break down how hilariously sad both of them are. First we have this answer from March of last year, when I was excited about the start of the 2019 baseball season.

My answer from the last time capsule (3/25/19): There are a lot of exciting things on the calendar for this year, but I think right now I’m most excited about Opening Day. It’s this Thursday and it’s the very first time Natalee and I have ever gone. I’m so excited!

-Then we have my response:

Note to past Kim: Good news, girl, the Dodgers set a record for most games won in franchise history! Also, we made the playoffs and are currently fighting our way through the NLDS. I can only hope the next time I hear from you we will have won the World Series, but for now, one step at a time.

2 things:

1) GIRL, that playoff run was ROUGH.

BUT.

2) GIRL, the Astros AND the Red Sox were accused of cheating in the two previous World Series. Also this video was born, so there was still some fun to be had:

Now, on to my answer from January.

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): I’m excited about the potential of this year. If that makes sense. I have a lot of fun things planned on the calendar and I think a lot of good things are on the horizon and so I am feeling excited and optimistic about the potential this year (and hopefully this decade) has for me and those around me.

And again I say, GIRL.

You poor thing.

Everything on the calendar is cancelled. This year is a disaster. The grocery stores are empty and people are literally selling toilet paper like drugs on the dark web. I’d like to say that the decade can truly only improve from here, but I’m not looking to jinx us.

.

9) What are you most worried about?

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): To find myself at the end of this year (and ESPECIALLY) this decade in the exact same place.

Right, right, I get that, but how about the fact that we’ve been mandated, for seven weeks, to stay in one place, at all times, every day?

.

10) Tell yourself a really bad joke.

My answer from the last time capsule (1/14/20): Absolutely not.

Way to stick it to the man yourself two years ago.

Here’s hoping that when I read my next letter we’ll be on the other side (or at least our way to the other side) of all of this, and we’ll all be back at our favorite restaurants, finishing breakfast and heading out to catch those morning movie showings.
